EIG was started in 2001 by Fred N. Martin a former Chief Operating Officer of Fiberstars. Fred was also a former President of both Progress Lighting and Prescolite and the former Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Hanson Lighting.

During Fred’s career as a lighting fixture manufacturing executive, it became apparent that for lighting fixture manufacturer’s to compete in the world market, it would be necessary to find ways to substantially reduce their costs.

The larger conglomerate lighting fixture manufacturers started to solve this problem early on by taking their high volume high labor cost parts to either Mexico or the far-east for off shore production. Now, some of the conglomerates have their own staff in place in China.

EIG can help make you competitive with the large conglomerates by providing your own Sourcing team in the far-east. While EIG is headquartered in Carson City, NV, we also have employees in southern China. They are headquartered in Gu Zhen, China, the lighting capital of the far-east. The manufacturing infrastructure in southern China equals that of the U.S.

We have also found that tooling costs consistently average sixty to seventy percent less than U.S. suppliers and 50% less on piece prices. The timing of when the client can expect their product is surprisingly quick to EIG customers. With an average of twelve to sixteen weeks for U.S. suppliers for tooling, EIG customers are blown away at the average of six weeks tooling time we boast in our Chinese factories.
